On a very warm and muggy summer's day we set off from Conyngham Hall car park in Knaresborough for our circular walks of 8 and 12 miles respectively. Alan led the 8 mile walk through meadows and along the river through the Nidd gorge while Tim and Simon led the 12 mile walk which is part of the Knaresborough Round taking in Flaxby and the small picturesque village of Coneythorpe. In the beginning we passed through woodland which kept us cool and as we progressed through more open spaces and fields it began to cloud up making the walk not as hot as expected. The walks were fairly easy leading through only slightly undulating terrain.
