Selby Fell Walking Club

By Steve Howard The membership of the SFWC decided to hold their Annual Lunch in January 2026.   The Festive Social Walk & Meal was held on Sunday 11th January 2026, the 4.7 mile walk was lead by Steve Howard.    The linear walk started in the market town of Thirsk; it’s known for its racecourse and depiction as local author James Herriot’s fictional Darrowby. We walked through Foolish Wood, past Knaresborough Forest Park and underneath the Nidd viaduct, and then gradually ascended away from the river through the parkland. Fog and Remembrance By Sonja Allen The day promised to be sunny and we left Selby on a bright morning.
