The medium walk of 6.5 miles started at the layby on the Blakey Ridge Road just down the road from the Lion Inn Pub and headed off down the Blakey Bank Road towards the village of Church Houses, then onward through the village onto Mill lane towards the Daffy café. We stopped there for a quick drink and then picked up the path for the Farndale Daffodil Walk heading for Low Mill. We then headed back towards Blakey ridge via High Wold house and High Bragg house, crossing Daleside Road and finally finishing at the Lion Inn Pub.
The long walk of 11 miles started at the same layby and we walked down towards the village of Church Houses, through the village towards the Daffy cafe. We continued following the path for the Farndale Daffodil Walk to Low Mill. We then walked gradually upwards towards Rudland Ridge passing West Gill Head with beautiful views across the dale. We walked along the ridge until turning across the moor to walk down to Long Causeway, then back up passing Lendersfield House to Farndale Moor. Our path continued to High Blakey Moor, following the old Farndale Railway and back to the Lion Inn.
