Although the summer was nowhere to be seen and it felt more like autumn, we had some fantastic walks starting and ending at the pretty village of Grassington in the Dales.
Highlights of both the long walk (11 miles) and the medium one (9 miles) was the Grassington Lead Mining area with interesting information boards and the path along the pretty stream of Hebden Gill which kept us well out of the cold wind. The steady walk (7 miles) took in Linton falls, formed of natural limestone, and Cloup Scar, a limestone gorge, and visited the village of Burnsall.
