Our October walk headed to Howarth, famous for its link to the Bronte sisters who lived there and created their classic novels. All our walks took in the famous Bronte waterfall, where the sisters often sat to write. The long and medium walk then ventured up to Top Withens, a farm in ruins which supposedly inspired Emily Bronte for her novel "Wuthering Heights". When we arrived there, we had to make space for dozens of runners who were doing a 6 mile trail race on that day, which was fascinating to watch. When we all arrived back in Howarth we were rewarded with yet another spectacle: the town centre was full of Steampunks in their colourful and creative outfits.
