Pocklington - 8 August 2021

By Steve Howard

Both the long & short walk started from the car park across from the bus station in Pocklington. The weather was changeable with frequent rain shower’s early in the afternoon. The long walk lead Tim & Simon was around 11 miles, while the short lead Mick & Steve was 8 ½ miles.

Both walks headed north out of Pocklington along the Chalkland Way, the long heading for Great Givendale and the short for Millington. The short walk did a detour to Kilnwick Percy Hall, which was bought and now is run by the Madhyamaka Buddhist, we planned to visit the grounds & café, but sadly the café was closed, but we where able to have our lunch and take shelter from one rain.

Both walks finished in Pocklington where refreshments where available.
