Another hot one
The August walks explored the undulating countryside of the Amber Valley, Derbyshire. The long walk (10.5 miles) started at the village of Pentrich and headed towards Shaw Wood and further on to Oakerthorpe Nature Reserve. It passed South Wingfield and Wingfield Manor and continued alongside an old canal into Heage, which has a working wooden Windmill, and back into Pentrich. The medium walk (8 miles) followed the same route as the long walk to Oakerthorpe Nature Reserve. It left Park Head and continued towards Park Farm and then Lodge Farm. After crossing the River Amber, the walk finished with a small uphill walk to come out next to the church in Pentrich.
