Another warm summer's day and the lovely town of Bakewell awaited us for our August walks. The long walk was 11 miles and headed first towards Rowsley and then Calton Lees, before entering Chatsworth Park with views of Chatsworth House and returning back to Bakewell. The medium walk of 8 miles took in the pretty villages of Ashford-in-the-Water and Little Longstone, from where the walk went up to Monsal Head with fantastic views of Monsal Dale and Headstone. It then descended down to the viaduct and along the Monsal Trail back to Bakewell. The steady walk of 5 miles followed the Monsal Trail until the Hassop Station Café where the walkers stopped for a break. After that it was back on the trail for a short while until turning off to Cracknowl Hill with views of the Chatsworth Estate and then downhill towards Holme Hall and the Buxton Road back to Bakewell.
