Richmond - 12th July 2026

After a very hot week, temperatures were a more bearable 23 degrees when we did our walks from Richmond. There were 3 walks: long (10 miles), medium (8 miles) and steady (5 miles).

The long walk took in Easby Abbey, the old Richmond train station, Whitcliffe wood, Whitcliffe Scar and the Willance's Leap memorial. The medium walk followed a similar route along the river banks and then uphill to Willance's Leap up Whitcliff Scar with beautiful views over Swaledale.
