The Yorkshire Wolds always make for good winter walking. We started all our walks from Market Weighton and headed along the disused railway line. The steady walk then went to Goodmanham and back to Market Weighton via Londesborough. The medium and long walk went a bit further on the railway path to Kiplingcotes and then headed to Arras Farm. While the medium walk returned to Market Weighton via the railway path, the long walk continued to Sancton, Houghton Hall, Crossfield House, Southgate and finally via the High Street in Market Weighton back to our starting point. Spring was also in the air as can be witnessed by the many snowdrops we found, and St. Helen's Well, a holy well or sacred spring, made for interesting reading on the way.
